Evaporator System (Durham, NC)
Continuous feed from solvent storage tank through feed preheater/pre-flash exchanger. Mixed vapor-liquid feed enters main fed-batch evaporator/decarb still. Both the feed preheater and batch evaporator are steam heated. The vapor leaving the batch evaporator is condensed in a shell and tube surface condenser. The oil/distillate is collected in a receiver and pumped to the solvent work tank. The entire system is maintained under vacuum by an LRVP system using water as a seal fluid. The batch evaporator will also act as a final stripping / decor reactor. In an expanded plant it would act as the primary decarb reactor. All this equipment would be fully purposed in a larger system build-out with no wasted value.
